The Sentiero dei Fiori, a spectacular via ferrata that retraces the walkways of World War I soldiers along the Castellaccio-Pisgana ridge at an altitude of 3,000 meters, is safely accessible. The heart of the renovation involves replacing historic lifts with 10-passenger Leitner cable cars, which are faster and more comfortable: Ponte di Legno: A new cable car will replace the Corno d’Aola chairlift and the Angelo ski lift. Travel time will drop from 15 minutes to just 6 and a half minutes. The project, designed by architect Peter Pichler, includes an intermediate station and will culminate in 2027/2028 with a futuristic panoramic mountain hut at 2,120 meters. Note: Despite the construction sites, the Petit Pierre hut at Corno d’Aola will remain open throughout the summer, accessible by foot or mountain bike.
