Start from the top-western area of Villa Dalegno above the church (1390m).

Just below the Eden hotel, take a cobbled path to the left (west – look for a sign on a nearby house “Canè”) which is closed to traffic.

This path becomes a narrower track and enters the woods. After a short steep climb, reaching some old cottages, take the left turn marked Canè and Corf. Follow this route through the fields, staying on the Corf route.

You will cross a larch wood and go over a hillock into a valley, climb uphill to the other side, cross the stream and come out at the main asphalted road to Canè.

Take this main road to the left to get to the village of Canè (1476m – 1 hour).

Go downhill through the village along the main road and then look for a path off to your left marked Lecanù. It is just after the second bend, after the little church called il Redentore. This path goes downhill towards the east, through fields and woodland, and becomes narrow and not clearly marked. At the first fork turn right, at the second turn left and you will come to a stone house (1350m – 1.20 hours). Pass infront of the house, ignoring the right turn. Take the flat grassy track in the direction of Ponte di Legno. Soon you will go downhill and have a view of Lecanù village and its church. Once you reach the main asphalted road, cross the river and go uphill into the village passing the church (S.S. Martiri 1.45 hours). Follow the white and red signs marked “Stambec” to a junction. At this junction turn right along the path towards Villa Dalegno. A short uphill climb takes you there (2.30 hours total).

Variation: you can make the walk shorter by 30 minutes if you return along the same route instead of descending to Lecanù.
