GRANDE CORSA BIANCA
From 30/01/2026 To 31/01/2026 at Vezza d'Oglio
SportThe Grande Corsa Bianca recreates a semi-self-sufficient winter crossing in an alpine environment, inspired by classical races in the Far North, America and Northern Europe.
Two routes: 110km and 40km
- The Grande Corsa Bianca, covering 110 km with 4,500 metres of elevation gain, will start from Piazza IV Novembre in Monno at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, 30 January. Competitors will almost immediately find themselves crossing over to Valtellina, passing through Trivigno and Lake Mortirolo, before continuing through the enchanting and immense Val Grande. They will then begin the return journey to Vezza D'Oglio, where the race is scheduled to end at 8 p.m. on Saturday 31st January.
- The Corsa Bianca, a 40 km route with a 2,100 metre elevation gain, will also start from the square in Monno on Friday 30 January, but at 10 pm, making it an adventure to be experienced mainly at night. The route will largely follow that of its big sister, but without crossing into Valtellina. The race is scheduled to end in Vezza D'Oglio, also on Saturday 31st January at 12 noon.
Both routes pass through enchanting valleys, small clusters of mountain huts and characteristic alpine views, before opening up into vast spaces vaguely reminiscent of Alaskan landscapes.
There are four disciplines:
- on foot
- with touring skis
- by bike
- Winter Dog Trail, in the company of your furry friend
